QGIS 2.8.0 had some show-stopper problems using WMTS-services like basemap.at (e.g. issues 12241 and 12244)Some days later QGIS 2.8.1. was released and WMTS works fine – sometimes with 1-2 additional clicks… & enjoy the new aerial image service for Austria !

…. if you try to load the basemap.at WMTS-Service in 2.8.1 at first glance you may get a blank screen 🙁

Just zoom in (Zoom to layer does not work) 1-2 times nearly the whole data frame and you will get the first small impression of your longingly wanted WMTS-Map.

After zooming in 2 times nearly the whole frame – “a small piece of Austria”:

And the new aerial image-service for Austria too 🙂
